I just noticed last week, that two rust spots about the size of a dime and about a half an inch apart, have popped up on my driver's side front fender. Anybody have suggestions on how to take care of this cancer before I have a giant-ass hole in my fender and have to replace it?

Mine had holes straight through on both sides too. Common place.

Makes it a great time to upgrade to front flat tube fenders, since you cut that part of the fender off to mount the new one's. Breakage(or rust in my case) is just an excuse to upgrade.

I've got the same hole in my fender.

Clean off any flaking paint, carefully shoot it with some Rustoleum Rust Reformer, then carefully shoot a color-matched rattle can at it.

Won't fix it, but it'll keep it from spreading.

That's what I would say/do as well, obviously not cheap, but a great time for an upgrade...

Or, if you're not in the mood to spend money on tube fenders (even the hack/install versions) you could cut out the small area, then either weld or rivet in a new sheet of aluminum and bondo/seal them together and add some touch-up paint. Basically along the lines of what people do with rusted out floorboards.

There is a place i believe certifit.com.
Body parts for decent prices if i remember, a local jeep shop uses the fenders all the time in the body shop.
