Does anyone have a set of wheels they would be willing to swap out this weekend. I just want to rule them out before dropping it off this week. I am sure they are balanced, but want to make sure they are not out of round or a bent wheel.

Text/call me if you can help. Thanks guys!

Move the front tires to the back and the back to the front...

Been there and done that. I know its not the tires. I just don't want to hear the shop say bead balancing doesn't work. The only complain I have had with Elias4wd is that he absolutely doesn't believe in bead balancing.

I know that the UCA bushings are bad as are the rest of them. I am waiting for my new control arms, but will have them do the UCA bushings. I also think the driver side ball joints are on the way out.

I used beads in the tires I have on my Jeep, on my other vehicle before I moved them to the Jeep, and they didn't work that well... Every now and again it would ride nice, but not for the majority of the time.

Once I swapped them to the Jeep, I had the shop take them out and just balance them normally. They ride great and the shop was even impressed how well they balanced. That was just my experience tho.

My rims are awful to balance. They had half the wheel covered in weights. I HATE external wights. I lost a few on the Jeep the very first time I went offroad. As long as the beads work, I will keep them. So far they seem to work well enough.

I have my wheels statically balanced and they use the sticky weights on the inside of the wheel. That way when I aired down rocks don't remove or just simply move the weights.

they don't balance as well but anyone who thinks 35's or bigger truely balance also believe in unicorns...

Just spoke with Lou. The ball joints are good and the UCA bushings will be changed by yours truly. He did begrudgingly inform me that the wheels are out of balance and the alignment was a little off. Note to self: Town Fair Tire cannot balance a tire and bead balancing doesn't work.

Hopefully when he calls me at the end of the day the shimmy is history. I want to enjoy the smooth new ride of my OME suspension!

I had a similar problem last fall. Shortly after I installed my 4" lift. I thought it might have been tires too because the whole front end shook much like a wheel balance issue. I found out in the end my lift changed the driveline angle on my front shaft. Because I've found very few comments about a 4" lift in a TJ causing front drive shaft vibrations I did not suspect it. I felt really silly a few months later when I started suspecting my front shaft. I removed the shaft and the vives went away.
Don't make my mistake. Check the front shaft. The easiest way to eliminate the shaft is to remove it and take it for a drive.

It may not be your problem but it's easy to eliminate.

Yea hopefully you get your rig back riding nice, sure does suck to keep tracking down issues and fixing them...

Also I had Town Fair Tire in Danvers balance mine, and they had no problem, all just depends on who you get balancing your tires. And I know some people that beads work for, and they did for me every now and then, but once I got them balanced the normal way, any vibes I had were gone.

I pulled the front shaft immediately and no luck. I only have 2.5" of lift so luckily my front shaft angle is in the acceptable range. Bead balancing just doesn't agree with my Jeep for some reason. As long as it comes back riding well, I will be happy.

Shimmy is when tires are moving side to side. Is that what is happening?.
Does it only do it when you reach a certain speed?.
I may be able to find the problem, no guarantee, but i do have a bit of experience with jeep lifts and the inherent consequences of them and might be able to help.
If you are around the haverhill area at some point i could take quick a look at it.
If it has been to lou's and they can not fix it i may be able to help.
I did that same work in a jeep shop every day.
I worked at domenic's auto and jeep and i am around most days.
If you can't figure it out without emptying your wallet let me know i may be able to help.
You never know.
MARK.
