So I have a 2013 JKU MOAB Edition Jeep. I have done a few mods to it already and just got the 2.5" Rock Krawler Max Travel Kit installed 5/4/2013! Pictures to follow.

What were the names of the alignment places again? One in Tewksbury and I should call Steve's Jeep ?? and ask them where they have their alignments done? I would really like for them to do the alignment with adjusting all of the arms and such so it is done correctly. Not that I don't trust Town Faire Tire but you know...

Town Fair will NOT touch anything beyond the FRONT tie rod and drag link. Ever. Even with a "4 Wheel Drive" alignment.

Wilmington Transmission in Tewksbury is what Clayton was talking about, and Steve's Jeep Country in Epsom NH will give you the name of the alignment shop they outsource to.

I agree! I will give a final review once I get the alignment done. I can tell the difference driving it for sure. Bumps don't throw me all over the place anymore. That could have been tire pressure though. With same tire pressure the new coils and shocks do a much better job. Very smooth ride now.

Oh BTW Ryan and Clayton, I made sure to take it to the car wash last night on the way home to spray out and wash the spots where brake fluid may have touched. I had no idea brake fluid was so caustic to paint etc.

I need to get the alignment done and steering back to normal. When I call these places, should I just ask about an alignment? Should I mention I did the suspension and need them to go over everything? Do I need a "4 wheel alignment"?

Bill,

As we discussed, it all depends on where you call. Honestly, if the thing drives great on the highway as it is (and you'd know by now, after driving back from Brian's shop) then I would not take the time seeking out a 4 wheel drive alignment from one of the specialty shops listed above. If it's really just a matter of the steering wheel, go to Town Fair/Firestone/Sears, and get an Alignment. If it's one of those typical shops, you do NOT need a "4 wheel drive alignment" as they will literally not touch anything beyond the front tie rod and drag link. You'll be paying extra for no additional service.

Go to Town Fair. Spend $40 and get the front end aligned. Don't budge when they try to sell you a "4 wheel drive" alignment.

So it turns out the Toe on the JK was really off. Was 7.69 or something degrees. They corrected everything and my cruise control works again and the steering wheel is straight. Yay for Town Fair Tire. I didn't even have to pay for the alignment!!

Best news all day.

For future reference, toe is measured in inches.

Really glad to hear it's fully functional!

I have the printout of before and after. I just know the toe was way off! I may re-route the brake lines, at least up front. Mark noticed with the tires turned all the way left the brake line could easily get in between the coil. If hitting a bump hard enough that would squish it. I may just take off the bottom bolt on the shocks, move them to other side and see how that looks.

If you haven't had the caster and pinion angle check, you really should. It may feel ok right now, but that can change drastically. No reason to risk damage for a few $$.

Looking at that diagram, does it make sense for me to just spend the $80 on getting a 4 wheel alignment? Does it look to be respectable settings now after the alignment?

I'm guessing with the crew you had they checked the pinion angle correct?

Also, what did you do for exhaust clearance on the front driveshaft?

Wasn't there, but the drive shaft angle should take precedence over caster.
He does have adjustable lowers.
Does it have a CV style in front and a Slip Yoke in rear similar to the TJs?
I could check the rear shaft angles for you Bill but I do not have a level flat surface here.
The front is easy to check I can tell you in a minute if it is off.

What are the Thrust Angle numbers depicted on the diagram? It shows Green at 0.24 degrees after the alignment. I am leaning more and more towards going to the alignment place and having them do a full 4 door alignment... I am getting worried now!
