So recently my 1st gear started popping out now matter what I do and syncros in 3rd and 4th were gone aswell. Last friday I decided to bring it to my buddies shop to take it out everything was smooth till... yup I have a stripped bolt on top of the bell housing its too close to the tub to grind it out. Now its a week later and I decided to pop the motor mounts and lift the tub. Oh no its in between sizes for the extraction tool wtf can anything work for me I unbolted the tub yup another snapped bolt on that too. So I ordered a brown dog mml and a hockey puck lift while im there. Oh boy I now know y transmission guys charge so much for jeeps. When he saw it I think he doubled the price because of all th mud on it. Anyone want to chime in to make my life a little easier with this subject or is this just gonna fight me the whole way. Her name is mean jean for a reason.

Did you snap the torx bolts on top of the bell housing? The top 2 in the middle?

The stripped bolt on top. That's a random 12pt, right?

Have you applied heat yet? Just stripped, not snapped, right? If he's got a welder, just weld a nut onto the top of the bolt and unbolt it using that.

For unbolting the snapped tub bolt, that I'm not sure.

I ended up popping out the motor mounts dropping the engine down a couple inches un bolted the tub jacked it up a little enough to get the grinder in there. Nothin is ever easy. I got it out this mornin and then popped the t case off. From my experience t case and tranny go in and come out separate im posting the because it wasnt fun. Monday brown dog 1 inch mml is goin in. When I jacked up the tub I did a Canadian body lift since im dropping loot and tranny, clutch, and tranny mount I went cheap. Now I gotta learn to get my pics from phone to forum. Im not good with technology. Well guys ill let yall know how it goes in. Ive got 6.5 hours in this not too bad for a first timer.
