,,FYI,,
The price of R134A Refrigerant is $4. 88 per 12 oz can at Walmart and soon to be 12 to 15 per can.
If you have a slow leak or your doing a recharge I suggest buying some now before the greedy price hike kicks in.
If you have a vac pump you can recharge system for 20 bucks or so.
I believe they aren't terribly expensive at Harbor freight.

Hey Mark I've been meaning to look this up, do you know offhand how much refrigerant a TJ takes when it's empty?

Oh crap. Now I'm confused. How do you refill the oil? I was under the impression that the refrigerant acted as a lubricant. I was unaware they were separate.

You can buy r134a with oil in the can already or you can buy a can of oil seperately.
The oil is the vehicle for the r134 to move through the system.

Okay so I wasn't too far off the mark. Thanks for your help, per usual!
