NEA Spring Poker Run
I figured I'd share this with you guys. It should be a great time. The NEA puts this on every year and opens it to the public.
When: June 2, 2012 Registrations start at 9:30. Groups of 5 or 6 will be leaving in 20 min intervals starting at 10:00 AM
Where: Honest Engine Auto Repair
29 Liberty Hill RD
Henniker, NH 03242
Directions: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
What: Our poker run is a trail ride through some scenic Class VI roads with check points along the route where you will draw a playing card. The best poker hand wins half the surplus money from the days take. Score cards are $20 and any one (passengers) in the vehicle can purchase as many as they like.
We will also be grilling burger and dogs after the ride though you may want to pack some snacks or a light lunch for along the way. Any added treats to share after the ride would be greatly appreciated.
Who: Anyone who meets the vehicle requirements. Vehicles should be legally registered and insured and have a min 31" aggressive tread tire and front and rear recovery points.

Re: NEA Spring Poker Run
Awesome.
Is there advanced registration, or is it a just-show-up kind of deal?
(On a side note: Whenever my mother asked me if I did my chores as a kid, I always thought she was saying "Honest Engine". It wasn't until my siblings and I were older that we realized it was actually a quasi-racist Native American remark, ha ha ha ha)

Who else is planning on going to this this weekend?
I was planning on going and then maybe doing a hike afterwords.....
I'd really love to bring the JK for once. Anyone have any idea of the pinstripe factor?

I'm looking into the pin stripping question. I'll get back to you when I know the answer.

Re: NEA Spring Poker Run
I'm told pin stripping is not a big concern. As always when you wheel it is possible but these routes should not be a problem.
BTW pin stripping is sexy.. just saying.

I'd love to go, but I'm getting a whole bunch of motorcycle parts in today. They won't install themselves. Damn, I have some expensive hobbies.

Rats, Dianna is working, so it looks like it'll be the YJ.
We'll have to keep track of the trails so we can run them again later as a "Paint Pansies Run" ha ha ha

I was planning on tracking the run with my tracks so we could reproduce it when we need a nap lol

Re: NEA Spring Poker Run
Just woke up and I'm afraid the weather is pushing me to be lame.
It's a 2 hour drive in the YJ in the rain, which is a pretty long trip in it's current condition, especially if the weather is preventing any nearby hikes after.
If it was a club event it would be different, but for a show-up-and-pay I'm afraid I'm going to stay in bed and snuggle with the wife and pups.
Hope it goes well!

I blew it off too. No rear windows in the softtop would have made it miserable for the kids.
