Getting flexy today
So while I was down at Doctor Wheels in Yarmouth today picking up metal and meat, I decided I might as well crawl up the RTI ramp since I hadn't done it since installing the 3-link long arm and coilover setup. Ended up fully compressing the driver's side coilover, but still had 3" of down travel to go on the passenger side before it started 3-wheeling. I was pretty amazed at how level it sat at close to full stretch. Enjoy
96" ain't bad, eh?
I noticed after viewing, some of the pictures are cropped and I had to view in a new tab to see all of it....hmm.

Re: Just another Rubicon build
Finished this stuff up on Tuesday:
* Reid Racing knuckles. These things are the business. Relocate tie rod to above the axle, pre-drilled for a 1 ton drag link flip.
*RCV's. Need I say more?
*Synergy ball joints. Mine weren't that bad yet, but I was pulling the knuckles anyway, so I figured I might as well replace them since the factory JK bj's are notorious for failing once you start rolling big meats.
*Currie tie rod. 1 5/8" 4130 chrome moly steel, 1 ton tie rod ends. You bend/break it, they replace it.
Porn:
This last one really shows the difference these knuckles make in tie rod location. Sexy.

Re: Just another Rubicon build
Wrenchfest continues today. Finished installing River Raider full skids. Major PITA, lots of bolts not quite lining up with holes resulting in lots of time with the step bit through 1/4" steel. That sucks. Had a section of my transmission crossmember that was bent too badly to get bolts through so I cut it out, hammered it flat, welded it back in. End result is titties. Got a nice flat bellied rig now

More progress today also, got the interior stripped out except for the center console which I'll tackle in the morning. Everything is coming out except for the dash. I'm going to start welding in the roll cage in the morning, when I get finished with that I'm going to be bed lining the tub. Hopefully I'll be spraying bed liner by Sunday afternoon, pics to follow

Re: Just another Rubicon build
Finished (mostly) with the cage. Great setup by Synergy, everything fit as it should, all I had to do was burn it in and paint it. Ran out of paint with just a bit left to do...just a few spots where the primer is hazing through a bit. I'll handle that tomorrow and hit it with some clear coat, followed by bed lining the tub.

1 down, 4 to go. Running MB this weekend, figured it would be as good a place as any to get these broke in. Good time to illustrate the 2nd leading reason I chose these wheels (1st being backspacing,) the recessed bolt design on the lock ring. Nice, eh?

Re: Just another Rubicon build
Decided to go ahead and mount them to get a good idea of what body work I'll have to do to make these fit. Probably could have just mounted two, but I got excited
Plenty of trimming to do around the rear tire. Front will be fine as it is. Decided to leave them as bare aluminum, whatever gets powder coated will just get torn up anyway.

Did you weld in your gussets? If not who did them? I am trying to find someone to burn mine in. Thanks.
