12000lb winch
Just saw this ad on CL, it's not my ad. Guy wants 200 for it, I'm going to email him and see what brand it is etc. Any input, you guys think this is a bad idea? http://providence.craigslist.org/pts/4214603117.html

Re: 12000lb winch
They are only 300$ or less for a brand new Badland 12k winch from Harbor Freight,, better deal than some old used inexpensive winch.
I would much rather buy A New inexpensive overkill winch for 300 or less than a used 200 $ unit.

Re: 12000lb winch
Any thoughts on the fact that the Superwinch has a non-roller fairlead? Usually only see that style with synthetic line? $300 is a pretty banger deal for a superwinch, even if it is made in china.
Edit: http://www.4wd.com/?t_pn=SWI1595200 an extra $50 for what is supposedly the replacement for the lp8500. Better corrosion resistance and a roller fairlead.

Re: 12000lb winch
The other style fairlead is fine, I'd like to pick one up to replace my roller. Might get a bit more beat up but way less bulky.

About as cheap a price as you can get for a new winch.

Re: 12000lb winch
Holy shit that's cheap. Rugged ridge is definitely more legit than HF and most other cheap winches correct?
Also I'd be really concerned about chewing up that style fairlead with wire rope. We have a 9000lb hydraulic warn winch at work and the rollers have cable imprints from regular use, I can't imagine a non roller fairlead lasting too long if it actually gets regular use.

You would think that there would be alot of wear on the cable as well.
