Nylon Fuel Line?
A hose fell off and wore a hole in my fuel rail supply hose.
I've gotten a replacement one from O'Reilly's, but it doesn't have the 90 degree bend and I had to slit the old one to get it off the hardline because it was so tight.
Souhhhh....how do I put the new one on? Do I put it in boiling water to reform and make it pliable enough to shove over the hardline? Lithium grease to put it on the hardline? Hose clamps?
Anyone have any experience with replacing this thing?
(I have all the tools for the special connector on the one end)

Use a heat gun? that's how the ford dealer near me does it.

Hmmmm, still need to invest in one of those. Propane torch probably won't substitute this time....
If a heat gun is the normal method, boiling water might do the trick as well...

Geoff, Have you considered using a hair dryer ? But the boiling water might do the trick.
Have you got a piece of hose that you can experiment with.

Hmmmmm, we might have a hair dryer somewhere, good call.
(Dianna is not the girly type, so while we probably have one, I don't know the last time I've seen it, ha ha)

Do you have a harbor freight near you? A ton of their stuff is junk but they have a few diamonds in the rough including this heat gun:
http://www.harborfreight.com/1500-watt-dual-temperature-heat-gun-572-1112-96289.html
You can get it about $10 with a coupon, I use it for tons of household and jeep tasks including all my wiring and it works great - I'm sure it would make that fuel line pliable much quicker than a hair dryer haha

We do have Harbor Freights in Houston, but there's none near my commute.
When I needed the drill-powered pump from them, I just bought it online.
Actually, being that we live so far out nowadays, we just have Amazon Prime and order everything online. Cheaper than stores, gets to me faster than I'd get around to driving into town to get it, easy returns, and I have an Amazon credit card, so I end up getting 3x points on the stuff instead of 1x.
It's kind of an awesome system.
