OBX Trip 10/9-10/12

Anyone interested in joining me for a trip to the OBX in October? I am meeting with the Jeep-Owner group for our annual meet. You can either ride shotgun or bring your rig.


Date: Second weekend in October, Thursday through Sunday, 9th through the 12th. This weekend should work well because it's late enough in the year for the weather, bugs and tourists to abate but early enough to avoid seriously cold weather.

Location: Oregon Inlet Campground, which offers showers, restrooms and some basic amenities but also allows us to stay right next to the beach for a very reasonable rate. The tent sites are available on a first-come/first-serve basis for $20 per night, but there's also some reservable group camping available for $4 per person, per night. I'm going to give them a call this week and see which variety of site will be preferable for a bunch of us showing up with Jeeps; it'd be great if we could get the uber-cheap group site, but if there's a parking issue we can still default to the tent sites, each of which allows either two vehicles or one vehicle and a trailer.
