Hello from Lawrence
Hello All,
Thanks for having me. I'm a "New" Jeep owner, in that I've never owned a jeep prior to this one, but I pick up my 99 XJ Friday afternoon. I managed to find one of the few rust-free examples in New England, 139,000 on the clock, and still runs like a top. Pictures are forthcoming. Got her for just under $2500 and can't wait to start getting my hands dirty.
I'm in Massachusetts presently (only for work), but am originally from Upstate NY. I am in Air Force going on 11 years now, and was a Vehicle Mechanic for most of that time. I have also worked as a Chrysler technician, so although I may have some questions as time wears on, I hope to be able to contribute to those in need as well. Other than that, just happy to be here and say hello.
~ Sean

Thanks. I learned in Germany that if you pressure wash the underside of your vehicle about every 2 weeks in the winter (wash the salt away), It should last a lot longer and prolong the time it takes to rust. I intend to undercoat mine at the soonest opportunity.

Re: Hello from Lawrence
Welcome to the club Sean. HMMM, i have a son named Sean, he must be 34 years old now and he served in the marines.
He had a nice 2 door xj sport, it was basically as close to new you could get for a used XJ,, BUMMER that he sold it.
He also had a 2 wheel drive XJ that we swapped over to 4 wheel drive, whew,,alot of work there.
Though i drive a TJ, I think xj's are great trail rigs too.
Good luck with yours.
