97 Wrangler part-out
Hi all. Some of you may remember my previous Jeep, my blue one. Some of you *cough*Ryan can't forget it. Anyways it's a 97 sport 4.0L 5-spd with about 200k miles. I've finally got what I need off it so it's open season now.
The bad: basically the whole body. The hood is gone, the fenders are rotted (classic TJ) and the rest of the tub generally has surface rust as typical of a New England TJ. The exhaust is gone. The frame is rotted (this is why I retired it). The tailgate is dented. The soft top is ripped. There's no carpet.
The good: The engine ran strong when I parked it. The transmission and transfer case were both solid and worked perfectly. The axles are fine. Basically the whole driveline is good to go. The wheels are a design I don't like, but the tires are full of life. There's a 1-1/4" body lift. There's a transfer case drop. I have a few sets of seat options.
Also good is I want to get rid of as much as I can to you people so most of it will go cheap. It's going to the junk yard with whatever is left before winter. And! You get to pull the parts yourself. OH! And all the wasps are dead, so you don't even have to worry about that!
I'll get some pictures asap.

Negative, sorry. To the best of my recollection, the suspension is stock except for the shocks, which are Zone, and good for a 3" lift.

You want me to bring it to August wheeling weekend? Do you need the lower piece also?

That would be great. I don't need the lower piece.

Re: 97 Wrangler part-out
I know you mentioned fenders, but I can't really see the passengers side very well. Â
Just exactly how bad is the rust? (because I can't quite tell what is keeping mine on) Â
I see that it's been a bit bashed on in the front.
And what did you say you had for drivers seats ?

Re: 97 Wrangler part-out
Seating options I have is a Bestop fixed-back grey vinyl with TJ brackets (or without, which fits a YJ, I think), a factory grey vinyl with a mostly-duct-tape base, and I think there's another factory option? It's been so long, I have to double check on that.
Here's a better view of the passenger's side fender:
I had my GF snap these just now as I'm at work, sorry she cut off the bottom. Anyway, now that I see it, I recall that there's not rot on this one, just some damage from that time I hit a tree. But uh yeah if you're still interested let me know.
Topher- I'll pull the fender flare for ya.

Those are the OEM Canyon rim design, which I believe is a 5.5" backspacing.

Re: 97 Wrangler part-out
Just gonna add this here rather than create a whole new thread:
CB antenna mount taillight bracket thingy. It's stainless, but I had painted it and peeled most of the paint off. You can still see a little in the bend. But it's otherwise mint condish. $15. I'm selling because I relocated my antenna.

So my 2am enthusiasm for my project forget that that's not exactly a carry-on item. Probably don't have any interest in shipping it, I assume?

Ha ha, sounds good. I'm always too lazy for shipping. How much would you want for it, including shipping?
Re: 97 Wrangler part-out

Not sure (still designing), but I'll grab it if you've got it.
