Re: wayne07jk "sanity"
so after trying to get an alignment last night and having the adjuster sleeve on the tie rod snap yeah my luck and its the tie rod i just had installed a little over a week ago my bad for buying used. today i called crown automotive in canton to see if they had a complete tie rod in stock. they had one so went down there to pick it up and ended up buying a few other things for the jk that i didnt need but wanted trailer hitch with dring reciever and locking gas door cover.
on the way home stopped by advanced auto parts to get rotor so i could do my brakes since i had bought pads a few days before. the discount code posted in the vendor section works and is in the system at the stoneham advanced.
so now teh jeep can get an alignment and be able to stop the km2s also met the guy who is in charge of gtd 2012 while i was down there and talked to him about the event and mentioned the club and he said to email them to get a booth also found out that jeff from crown found the spot for gtd2012 since he asked if i was going

Re: wayne07jk "sanity"
so right now the jk is sitting in front of my house since i have been dealing with death wobble. have ordered a new drag link from crown and also ordered an old man emu steering stabilizer, since my hd kyb is a stock replacement. going to also replace the trac bar bolts with 9/16th hardware so there is a snug fit for the bolt to try to eliminate any movement in the trac bar. also hopefully getting my clayton control arms installed to fix my caster since i am at 1 degree right now and factory spec is around 4.
all this money i am spending is cutting into the bumper fund

Re: wayne07jk "sanity"
I might be some help to ya brother. First, regarding DW, give this forum a thorough read:
Planman's DW thread
Anything you need help with I can spare a day of wrenching sometime soon.
Second, regarding bumpers, ect:
I'm about to wrap on my corner armor and rock slider install, up next on my list is to build some bumpers, meaning what I have now, PSC Rock Brawler, front and rear, will be up for grabs. I also removed the OR-Fab tire carrier, which is a great unit, but I decided to go with the "clean" look on the back so I'm fabbing a tire carrier mount inside the back seat. I'll be letting this stuff go relatively cheap, and I'd much rather it go to a club member.

Re: wayne07jk "sanity"
Thanks for that thread I am a member over there just don't frequent over there as much now.
Going to inspect the track bar bushings and replace the bolts with some 9/16 hardware and see if that helps when I do the new draglink and stabilizer this coming week. The jeep has been sitting since Thursday since I have my 5.9 litre zj to get my self around in which is more fun to drive some days since I have more power.
On the bumpers let me know how much you want for them I am interested in the rear and tire carrier but may also try and snag the front if price is right and I can sell my current bumper

since the jeep looks awful with the stock tire on the back since i stepped up to 35s and i like the idea of not having a 35" spare laying in the back of the jeep and one of the local members also a jk owner was selling an or fab tire carrier i went out tonight and picked it up now just need to find time to install it.

lift it yet and if so did you have toe adjusted?

Re: wayne07jk "sanity"
sunday the 22nd Had an eventful night got out of work at 11 and on my drive home hit a down wire from a telephone pole which got wrapped around the rear axle lifting the jeep and turning it sideways almost causing me to roll it on its side. Ended up causing the trans former to blow, snapping the top of the telephone pole, left a nice gash in the street from my rear drivers wheel
monday the 23rd Went and emptied out the jeep this morning and found some more damage not seen last night I also filed a claim with my insurance company
Pics of passenger rear lower arm show it is bent and the steel cable underneath is what lifted the jeep. The more I think about it the more I realize the jeep should have ended up on its side and I should have been injured. I am just glad I was by myself in the jeep and I was the only vechile involved because a swinging jeep could cause some severe damage to what ever is in its way

Re: wayne07jk "sanity"
Holy crap, man. Glad you're ok.
Ryan forwarded me the pictures and I wondered if you had run over a cable.
Let us know how the insurance thing goes and if there's anything we can do to help.

Re: wayne07jk "sanity"
So its been 8 weeks with out the jeep and I can't explain how much it sucks while its been in the shop they replaced the rear axle that got bent during the accident and had them install my arb diff cover while the axle was out of the jeep. Since the rest and needed replacing had them install my Clayton arms in the rear along with my extened brakelines. Also got 4 new 35" m2s and one new wheel.
Jeep should be done this week some time. When it gets out going to try and set up an install day to do the front arms and brake lines and front skid plate. Also need to get my tire carrier installed once it gets out of the shop but that will be a project for another day. After that save up for some new driveshafts since mabell did not like my front shaft or front axle reinforcement if the axle is not bent from wheeling mabell 2 straight weekends if its bent saving up for a 44 front from a rubi

Re: wayne07jk "sanity"
Glad it's coming along!
Sorry you won't be able to make it this sunday, but perhaps an OFR run is in your future this fall!
The upgrades will be nice, man.
