Any body running an AGM battery.
Anyone using a AGM battery in their jeep? ,,,die hard, orbital, optima, etc.
How has it been working out, where did you get it, how much did you pay for it?

I've got the Die Hard Platinum P4. $220 at Sears. Clayton runs the same, great battery, honestly bought it for the 130min reserve capacity.
Re: Any body running an AGM battery.
Same as Ryan, Die Hard P4. Only had it a few months now, but great so far. Paid just under $200 as they were having that week.

I'm going to need one very soon and that seems to be the one to get.
I know that Matt also has one.
I have not heard many good reviews on the Optima.
At work we had 2 odyssey batteries go bad and getting them warrantied was a night mare I guess.

Optima has sucked recently after they moved production to Mexico.
Re: Any body running an AGM battery.
Did you buy your battery by application or did you get the biggest one that would physically fit.

Application. Been great reviews on this, plus like you said, Optimas are now crap and Sears are everywhere so warranty would be cake.

Re: Any body running an AGM battery.
I had just purchased and installed a diehard platinum#34/78 dt battery in my jeep Thursday.
Does your battery hold down fit incorrectly like mine.
New battery is approx 1 plus inches narrower than my factory hold down bracket.
Any body else have same issue with hold down, can't just be me because hold down brackets should be the same on all TJs.
They are on sale for 175.99 right now, that is a great price.

Wow, thats a great price!
as for the hold down, I can't comment as I don't use the stock with the hilines.

Re: Any body running an AGM battery.
Very jealous of the price. Mine uses an aftermarket mount as well, so I can't help you much.
Re: Any body running an AGM battery.
I recently got around to putting in an Optima red top in my Audi that had been sitting untouched in a cardboard box for at least 4 years. It started first try without hesitation. Other than that, a battery is a battery is a battery, but I was very impressed.

That is a great price, I just paid about 187 for mine the other day and now they are even less.
That is probably as low as they get 175.99 is a super deal.
I guess that I will make or buy a hold down haven't decided yet.
What brand hold down do you all have and does it work well ?

Re: Any body running an AGM battery.
Cool been looking for info on the Sear battery.. I know Autozone now sell's an AGM battery believe it is made by the same company that makes Sears battery, I been thinking about trying it just because of the warranty and convenience of they are located almost everywhere. Regardless I will be buying two batteries.

Re: Any body running an AGM battery.
I have a die hard platinum, got it on sale for about 170, 3 year free replacement and 8 year warranty i believe.
I f you are interested in one,Watch sears on line as prices vary from day to day it seems.
I would rather have the die hard myself.
Good lock with whatever battery you get.
Many of us have the die hard and have had great luck with them,

Re: Any body running an AGM battery.
I put in an Autozone brand battery (the mid-grade one) in 2008 and daily drove it for 4 years in New England winters and it's been 2 years as a toy in Texas heat.
Sometimes, a battery is a battery is a battery.
(seriously, I just realized how amazing that is. It's been 6 years in abusive conditions. 6 freaking years!)

Re: Any body running an AGM battery.
I have had this one in my jeep since about april-ish and no complaints.
