New Guy Alert! Lowell, MA

Hey everyone. My name is Shaun and I'm from Lowell, MA. I bought my first Jeep last year. Its a 2005 RME 4.0L, 6 Speed. I bought it already lifted (unknown manufacturer) with 33x10.5 BFG ATs.

So far all that has been done is upgrading to 33x12.5 Goodyear Duratracs and adding an iPod adapter. The fun begins April 3rd when I drop it off for the OX locker install.

My plans for the Jeep are to stay on 33s, savvy/currie 3" lift, savvy under armor, and all necessary associated mods.

I have only gone wheeling once as I found out my rear spider gears were severely pitted. Apparently the diff fluid had never been changed before I brought it in to have some work done at Elias 4wd. They found leaking axle seal and subsequently the bad spider gears. Suffice to say I won't be beating on it until the locker goes in. I do look forward to doing some more serious stuff once that is complete.

Hey Shaun. I'm just next door in Tewksbury on Rte. 38. You've probably seen my Jeep in the driveway of my house. Looking forward to hearing about your OX locker and how you like it. Have you heard about Domenic's Jeep in Hampstead, NH? That's where I go for all my Jeep work. He did and awesome job on my frame over the winter.

He was supposed to get back to me with a quote but has been out of town. I have had some work done at Elias 4wd and feel very comfortable with the shop. They are very knowledgeable and have actually talked me out of spending money when it wasn't necessary or worth it.

I believe I may have. I will keep an eye out. There are a ton of local Jeeps but few seem interested in the culture behind their vehicle choice. Oh well more fun for us!

So you've run into this problem as well, huh? Makes me feel a little better about the repeated let-downs I've experienced with the uninterested Jeepers.

I would love to meet up with you all in the future. Hopefully there is a Sunday meet sometime or a Mon-Wed meet. I have a very odd work schedule. Thur-Sat overnights.

As far as the uninterested Jeepers. It used to really bug me, but now I just don't bother. No use in getting frustrated.

Wow, and Jarret's doppelganger Jeep is often in Lowell as well, as his wife works there.

Lowell here as well haha. I live off Gorham St near the old 1400 dealership.

Nice. The Jeep goes in next week for the OX locker. Once thats done I will be able to wheel again. Hopefully we can do a weekday run sometime as I work nights/weekends.
