T&T Tube Fenders
Well guys, I finally ordered them.... T&T (Trek's Offroad) complete replacement tube fenders with a 3" flare.
Re: T&T Tube Fenders
Do you think you will have any issues getting an inspection sticker?

Nope. None at all.
Re: T&T Tube Fenders
Nice. I would love to do fenders, but worry about inspections.

Just need to know people, and where to go.
Re: T&T Tube Fenders
Siiiick! Those will be badass color matched! A couple of my buddies have these, definitely a solid unit.
Also since you weld, it might be good to fill in some of the seams as they are fully welded all the way, obviously finished but could use some finishing touches...
My buddy was telling me he did to make sure that he did that so there would be know where to hide/ catch salt easy, and keep the finish looking nicer, for longer. The other kid I know with them, said he wished he had did the same, but since they've been on for over 5 years he saw no point now.
This, and you could use a stock set of wheels for inspections, like a lot of people do, to avoid any tire hanging past. My buddy rolls into inspection on 30's with his 4.5" lift, and has no problem.

My plan was to drill out a small hole at the bottom of the tubes for any rain water to fall out of, and use a seam sealer across the welds before doing a self-etching primer. Then the Chili Pepper coat, then a butt-load of clear lacquer. I've got a background in building custom electric guitars so I'm relatively familiar with the patience of long lacquering processes so it should be a good time!
Gonna have to take the stockers off, mount these unfinished, drill the holes, then put the stockers back on while the whole prep process of the T&Ts take place. I gotta tell you though, I'm pumped to have finally bought them.

Just an FYI my friends a police officer and said the law is written that 4x4 vehicles do not have to have the fenders cover the tires. Right now my tires are a couple inches past the fender due to the backspacing and I've yet to have an issue.

Thanks! Yeah I checked with a few friends on the force and they all assured me it wouldn't be a problem

Re: T&T Tube Fenders
Used a tube of seam sealer today on the fenders to fill in the areas between tubing and sheet metal. Hope is that this will keep water out of those areas and prevent any possible rust from forming after they are painted. This seam sealer is especially designed for vehicles and can be sanded after it cures.'
Re: T&T Tube Fenders
Good call on the seam sealer. Any way to prevent rust is a good idea in these parts.

Partial mock-up. Tomorrow Geoff and I will be doing the under-hood-component-mounting.

For now, no running lights. Turn signals will be 3/4" triple diode LEDs.
Re: T&T Tube Fenders
Got more done today with Geoff's help.
Holes drilled, stuff mounted, primer started, etc. Also did a test paint of a battery tray. Looks pretty matched as far as I'm concerned, considering I haven't done a clear coat on the test portion yet.
