Re: Andrew's Yellow Jeep Build.
The jeep is alive! The engine light went out soon after I repositioned the vss, speedo gear. I love the new clutch, and there is no more shimmy in the clutch that was due to a bad throw out bearing. The only problem with it now, is I still have a problem downshifting from 3rd to 2nd. Maybe I need to change the fluid a few time to get the old junk out of there. But the good news is that I can down shift at a little higher rpm than I was able to before. I am incredibly proud of how I did with the jeep. And that is still in one piece!

Good to hear that you have it going .
When you push the clutch in to down shift 3 to 2 blip ( REV MATCH )throttle quick and shift at same time, see if it helps you to down shift.

Re: Andrew's Yellow Jeep Build.
Well, I got the 33's put on the jeep!!!!! Here are some before and after shots of the stock 30's and then the 33's. Might i add that the jeep drives great and it shifts almost the same as it did before. On my way to class yesterday morning i was able to cruise down rt. 2 going 70 mph in fifth gear and the motor was turning at around 1800 rpm. And i was still able to pass people. Obviously i when i came to a hill i had to down shift, but it wasn't a problem, and i also changed out the speedo gear to the right one to match the 33's. As of now, stage one is pretty much done, guess i wont declare it done untill i get the Currie lowers installed as well as the 1 ton steering.
I really like that it has a LCOG look to it, its only a 2.5" lift on 33's!! Seeing as i dont have school today, i have some good sized rocks in the driveway to flex on. Be on the look out!

I chuckled to myself when i looked at this comparison.
When i bought it, December 16, 2010
Vs.
Almost 2 years later, Picture from yesterday
Wow what a difference!

Looks good man!
Just watch the clearance flexing out with just 2.5" lift w/ 33's, thats what I had on my Rubi at first, but flexing it out I would hit the flares decently, so I added a 1.25" BL/MML. Made it perfect.

Re: Andrew's Yellow Jeep Build.
Yup, I used to get a max of 24mpg. Then I lifted it, ha ha.
Then I got 11 because the speedo was off, then I got 16 highway when I corrected the speedo. The I changed axles and got 14, then finally corrected that and got 20mpg!!!!
Now I drive around town a lot and can't get past 16mph, ha ha.
.....I've just stopped trusting my gauges.

I am getting about 17+MPG in the JK on 35s. I can get 20+MPG if I am doing all highway. I love this rig.

Re: Andrew's Yellow Jeep Build.
When I bought the jeep, I was only getting 15-16 mpg bone stock. Then I put the banks exhaust on, and I could get 18-20, 21 If I really tried. Then the jeep was lifted 2.5" and I was still able to get 19. Now with the 33's, I'm back down to 16, not bad at all!

Nope not bad at all. That was right about where I was with my TJ on 33s and 2.5" lift with 1.25" BL.
