Re: Janesy's 03' Rubicon Build
Yea they should come out boss!
In other news, I got a shot of the reverse LED's that I installed to stay legal and make sure I don't back into sh*t. Copied B2CARPEN on JF with these, since they were super bright. No night shots til I get the battery back in after highline install... But I tested them out and they are crazy bright, even being soo small.

Got the passenger side highline in place, so this weekend its all set up to be welded! Man these are bada$s! Definitely need to find some cheap 35/37's or get around to selling my Trailblazer that is just sitting in the parents driveway... Then I could put that to some new MTR's and regear. That would be tit.
While I was at it I checked for where I'll be placing all the under the hood items that bolted to the inner fenders, should be all set, just will have to extend the washer bottle wiring, but fits nicely next to the brake fluid. Also cut down the CAI tube so that'll fit. It's getting there!

Haha. I guess soo...
I've said 'Tit' for a long time now, it was funny seeing all those guys using that word after reading all those build threads on JF. And with the MTR's, I love the look, read great things, want to try out a new tire and they are more true to size unlike KM2's.

Just made me think of them all!
MTR/Ks will most likely be my next tire as well. Aggressive look, great tread and capability, and true to size.

Re: Janesy's 03' Rubicon Build
Finally got around and cut my hood yesterday. Not as bad as I thought it would be, just went at it. Came out pretty good and nice and straight.
Still waiting on the fenders, hopefully I'll get em back from my neighbor today/tomorrow, as I'd like to rap this project up this weekend. At the latest I need to be done by next Thurs as I got a weekend of camping and wheelin' at Fall Crawl!
Also might throw on the hoodpins today, just need to find some hole saws that wont break the bank.
Pics up later.
Me neither! Really need to pick up some bigger tires after these are on.

Snagged the HF hole saws, worked like a charm. Hood pins are in! Also some pics of the hood chop...

Re: Janesy's 03' Rubicon Build
Nick does your neighbor know that I'm anxiously waiting to see these fenders assembled and don't have time for this waiting around bullshit?!
Re: Janesy's 03' Rubicon Build
Hahaha, me too! He keeps telling me that he'll get them done, which I know I'll have em soon, but I keep looking out side to see if he left them behind my house...
He works 12hrs a day where we both work then he puts in another few hours doing welding on the side... But those people are paying, he's not charging me anything, so I'll have to wait a little bit, but told him I NEED them by mid next week the latest.

Re: Janesy's 03' Rubicon Build
Everything is all bolted up and I'm ready to rock for Fall Crawl tomorrow! Just finished up with giving the Jeep a little bath after mounting the highlines and snapped a couple pics, not the greatest but they will do...
I only had time to grind the welds down a bit and hit them with some primer, as I needed them on for tomorrow, so maybe next week or so I'll take em back off and do them right, with paint and clear. And will have to hook up some turn signals, as I didn't get to that.
Now I just have to get the Jeep packed.

Looks mean. Hey can you do me a favor and ask your buddy if he is interested in making some side money to weld in my gussets. I am having a hard time finding someone willing to do it for a reasonable amount of money.

Re: Janesy's 03' Rubicon Build
Few pics from yesterday at Fall Crawl! Was a blast just wish it didn't start to downpour, would have liked to stay last night and wheel today, but didn't feel like tenting in that weather...
Should have more pics coming, jusy waiting to get them from others as well as some GoPro action I got.

Nice! Looks good.
Anything special prompt the purchase, or were the old ones just getting worn?

Re: Janesy's 03' Rubicon Build
Thanks!
Old tires were still over 50% or so, but after putting on the highlines they were looking tiny. Decided for the hell of it to list them on CL, and I got much more than I thought I could and were gone in a day, so with that money and a little bit I had saved in my Jeep fund I got the new shoes... Otherwise it wouldn't had happened so soon.

If you don't mind me asking...what did you get for them on CL? I listed my 35's, and just got 2 million emails of offers for half of what I wanted.

$700, for (4) 50-60% in good shape, (1) 80% but had a plug in it and slowly leaked, so only used it as a spare. Rims were in OK shape, bit of rock rash and finish was blotchy. But every one wants the Moabs, so that helped I suppose.
